RoHS 3 Compliance

AEMC® is an instrument manufacturer and falls under category 9 (Industrial Monitoring and Control) of the RoHS3 compliance requirements. Regarding Lead content we comply with exemption 6(a) which allows up to 4% by weight until July 21, 2024. We are well below that level. Regarding all other chemicals outlined in the compliance directive, AEMC is within the required levels and will publish documents of conformity on our website by the July 21, 2021 deadline for compliance.

RoHS and REACH European Union Directive Statement

Chauvin Arnoux®, Inc. d.b.a. AEMC® instruments products are compliant with the latest ROHS and REACH European directive.

REACH Statement

Our manufacturers are aware of the requirements of EU Directive 2015/683 (RoHS 3) and intend to comply with the requirement in regards to material content for products identified as RoHS compliant. In instances where customer prints and specifications conflict with RoHS they will not be RoHS compliant.

The plastic resins, base metals, metal plating or coatings used to manufacture RoHS compliant products do not have any intentionally added:

  • Hexavalent Chromium (0.1%)
  • Poly-brominated biphenyls (PBBs) (0.1%)
  • Poly-brominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), including Deca-BDE (0.1%)
  • Cadmium (0.01%)
  • Mercury (0.1%)
  • Lead (0.1%) Per EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2), Exemption 6c, copper alloys may contain up to 4% Lead.
  • Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) – (0.1%)
  • Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) – (0.1%)
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) – (0.1%)
  • Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) – (0.1%)

Specific product RoHS 3 Certificates of Compliance are available on request.

We reserve the right to make material substitutions in our product that will not impact this certification.

None of our materials are typically analyzed for content, relying on the material supplier for Certifications and available MSDS.

Export Management System Statement

AEMC is committed to following guidelines regarding Sanctions Programs and Country Information as requested by the Export Administration Regulations administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). U.S. export control laws follow U.S. origin products and are applicable in the full extent of the law. Any violations or concern of possible violations of the above must be immediately reported to AEMC® Senior Management for immediate attention and action.

Chauvin Arnoux Inc. d.b.a. AEMC® Instruments is committed to conducting its business in a socially and ethical manner consistent with applicable national laws and regulations. As part of a business group actively working in Europe, we already meet similar environmental regulations such ROHS and particularly REACH which also addresses many chemical substances contained in PROPOSITION 65 and continue to seek outside assistance from an accredited PROP65 organization in obtaining Safe Use Determinations for our products from OEHHA (Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment).
